Modern generation of Europeans is not special at all. At the time when the dying Erasmus Roterodamus bequeathed to the future generations to refuse interfaith disputes and to direct to the unity of Europe, Nicolo Machiavelli in Florence treated the right on "war of all against all" in his own way and called for strengthening of "the home power".
More than once Europe was at the crossroads: "the past is behind, uncertainty is ahead ... between our present and our past, recent and far, all bridges have been destroyed
", wrote Stefan Zweig
in "The yesterday's world
". And though 48% of British already started to think that "it is necessary to adapt to the most fantastic changes and, despite desperate resistance, to be always chained to the general destiny
", the Brexit - which has become a reality - will not lead to the automatic cancellation of a freedom of movement and other European achievements, but will considerably transform the understanding of the all-European values.
"Recovery of control on Kingdom borders
", "work and employment only to British
" and the aspiration to see the country as "only our country" were the famous Brexit slogans. The ever growing low of new migrants on the European continent, on-going migratory crisis became a political basis of Brexit, which with all evidence showed that migration and its effects are the serious weapon and powerful means of manipulation in the hands of the "right
" political forces - radicals and populists.
At the same time the increased migration flows cannot be either the cause, or the consequence of Brexit. In the book "Revolt of the "right
": explaining the growth of supporters of the right radicals in Britain" Robert Ford and Mathew Goodwin analyzed a geographical map
of Great Britain through a prism of preferential moving of the foreigners and came to a conclusion that the residents of the cities and districts with a bigger density of migrants are not support group of Nigel Faraj's party. On the contrary, the supporters of the Party of Independence of the United Kingdom live in the cities and districts where the minimum number of foreigners is registered.
In 2015 London School of Economics published the research showing that change of work compensation and loss of work by poorly educated and low-skill workers it is not connected in any way
with a gain or reduction of migration flows. Moreover, during the period from 2001 to 2011 the contribution of migrants to GDP of Great Britain amounted to 20 trillion pounds sterling. In comparison with the locals, the migrants seldom (43 per cent less often) use tax advantages or system of social protection of the country. Migrant workers in the territory of the Kingdom are more educated also more qualified than the locals. For creation of the human capital with the same education level and qualifications than that of the migrants living in the country, Great Britain will have to spend more than 6,8 trillion pounds from the State budget
. The migratory crisis which captured the European continent influences the events in Great Britain just a little, because this country is not a participant of the Schengen agreement that automatically excludes the right for a freedom of movement of the refugees who arrived to continental Europe, in the territory of the Kingdom.
It could be sad, but the true reason of Brexit is not the increased migration flows, but the collision of generations, the opposition of fathers and children. Judging from statistical data, 75% of inhabitants of the Kingdom aged from 18 till 24 and 56% of the British aged from 24 till 49 voted for the general future with Europe. 49% of the residents of Great Britain aged from 50 till 64 and 58% of the British older than 65 years voted for the future out of the European Union.
Great Britain is growing old at a very fast rate
Indeed, 11,5 million people are more senior than 65 years and 1,53 million people is more senior than 85 years, took away the European future from their children and grandsons. Let's remind that 17,4 million people voted for an exit of Great Britain from structure of the European Union. Taking into account an average life expectancy in the Kingdom, each resident of Great Britain who more senior than 50 years will live with the after effects of the solution approximately 16 years, while a 20-year-old and a 30-year-old British who voted against Brexit, will be forced to live out of the EU against his will for the majority of his life, from 52 to 69 years. As the British "The Intercept
" portal commented: "The senior generation of the British voted for the future in which their children have no future
Who is ready to exit
Nowadays inside EU there is no consent on the procedure of Great Britain's exit from the structure of the EU - from the moment of the announcement of the referendum results or after the election of the new Prime Minister and submission of the corresponding statement, - however, there is no hope for cancellation or for suspension of the decision. The price of the British referendum will be notable both for the citizens of the United Kingdom, and for the inhabitants of the European Union. First of all, Great Britain will not manage to keep all its advantages as a former EU member state. As the German Chancellor Angela Merkel declared, the difference between "it is an essential difference between to be or not to be a full member of the European family of the states
According to the results of the summit held on June 28-29, the European leaders came to a conclusion that the access of Great Britain to a common EU market with a set of the obligations designated by Great Britain, is excluded. Of course, there won't be a full cancellation of a freedom of movement of individuals, goods, services and the capitals between the island and the continent, but the changes will be very significant for both parties. Soon the arrangement which allows the border services of Great Britain to carry out control and examination in the territory of the certain states of the EU - for example France - will be reviewed: this procedure, once again, will raise a question of the territorial accessory and the distribution of responsibility for the centers of accommodation of refugees in the adjacent territory of Great Britain and France.
Great Britain will probably have to face the growth of racism and hatred manifestations. Right after the end of a referendum there was a significant splash
of anti-migrants performances and collisions between the migrants and the locals in public places, public transportation and on streets of the cities. In 2013 the campaign "Go Home
" started, aimed at the deportation of illegal migrants and at active participation of the locals - they were offered to report to authorized bodies about neighbors, colleagues and just aquaintances without the legal status in the territory of the Kingdom, - but at the end it had insignificant support. Those who in the past anonymously called by telephone now will receive a public tribune and freedom of action.
It is important to understand that the vote results in Great Britain are not the consequences of migration policy of the European Union. The migrants do not represent any danger to the locals, they do not threaten stability of existence of the European Union. However such understanding remains an intimate secret for many Europeans. In case of Great Britain the price of this ignorance is the exit from the European Union and the movement from Great Britain to Little Britain both in direct and figurative meanings.
