Some 5.2 million households had obtained subsidies to compensate the cost of housing and utilities services under a new procedure in Ukraine as of December 29, 2015, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has stated.
"We've completely changed pricing policy for tariff formation in the Ukrainian energy sector," he said at the final press conference in Kyiv.
Yatseniuk stressed that the existing tariffs for housing services for the population of Ukraine are market and fair but not high.
As reported, with reference to Yatseniuk, as of December 11, 2015 some 5 million households had obtained subsidies to compensate the cost of housing and utilities services under a new procedure.
According to the State Statistics Service, in January-November 2015 the total amount of subsidies for housing services in Ukraine amounted to UAH 1.483 billion, which is 6.8 times, or UAH 1.264 billion more than in January-November 2014.
