President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his Kazakhstan counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev have coordinated their action in face of the Russian embargo on the Ukrainian goods transit during a phone conversation, the press service of the President reports.
Poroshenko said that such Russia’s acts violate the Vienna Convention on Law of Treaties, as well as the rules and regulations of the WTO. In connection with this the Heads of State discussed the possibilities of rerouting the Ukrainian transit of goods in order to prevent the negative effects done by Russia on trade turnover between Ukraine and Kazakhstan, and also the Asian countries.
The two sides have also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached after the visit of the President of Ukraine to Astana on 8-9 October 2015 and the prospects for deepening cooperation in strategically important areas for both countries.
Moreover, Poroshenko and Nazarbayev have discussed the situation in Donbas, including the Ukrainian initiative to deploy international peacekeepers in the occupied territories.
The Heads of Ukraine and Kazakhstan have instructed their ministries for foreign affairs to commence preparations for the state visit of the Kazakhstan President to Ukraine.
