The subsistence level will fall behind the minimum wage rate.
The minimum wage in Ukraine is expected to rise up to 2030 hryvnas per month. It is 580 hryvnas more than the current rate. At the same time, the subsistence level will make up to 1960 hryvnas (420 hryvnas more than the actual rate) in 2019.
Such figures are planned to be included to the state budget by the Ministry for Finance, which is currently elaborating the estimate for 2017.
Minister for Finance and deputy Minister for Finance say this time they changed their approach to the budget.
“For the first time, the government forms budget based on its income and resources, unlike previous approach based on expenditures and wishes,”- Ministry for Finance posted on Facebook.
According to the legislation, this estimate needed to be presented to the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] by September, 15.
However, experience has shown – the registration of the document does not necessarily mean it is finalized. Normally, budget will be approved by the end of December.
