The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is planning to raise the minimal price on cognac, vodks and wine, and simultaneously to lower the price of whiskey, rum, and gin.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Traide of Ukraine (MEDTU) in accordance with the necessity to level the price of the spirit and alcohol products offers to advance the price of the minimal wholesale price of vodka, cognac, wine and gin, according to the decree project prepared by the MEDTU.
The document complemented by the note stated that the alcohol price amounted to 240 hryvnas per decalitre including VAT in January 2016. Starting from April 2016 the price has been lifted to 285 hryvnas per decalitre.
"Other components of the price went up as well. Thus, the revision to the minimal wholesale and retail pricing of certain types of alcohol products depending on the product code has been offered. In particular, the price of vodka and distillery is planned to be advanced by 24%, cognac (brandy) by 24,9-30,7%, wine 22-55,7%. However, the price of whiskey, rum and gin is planned to be reduced by 37,5%, " stated in the decree.
The normative act offered by MEDTU yet to be conformed with the Ministery of Agricalture, Ministery of Finance, Ministery of Justiñe, State Fiscal Service, and Regulations Service of Ukraine.
