The Parliament also intends to introduce financial penalties for employers failing to report in this area, UNIAN.
Parliament adopted at first reading a parliamentary bill to abolish the exports and imports licensing of ethyl, cognac and fruit alcohol, alcohol beverages and tobacco products as well as financial penalties for failure to report businesses in this area.
Two hundred fifty four MPs voted to adopt a relevant bill №4958 «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on simplification of licensing procedures in the field of foreign trade activities" passing the necessary minimum of 226 votes.
Speaking at the bill presentation, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Victor Galasyuk said: "License costs UAH780. Its proceeds to the budget are lower than the cost of its administration. This suggests that it is a potentially corrupt tool. The proposal is to remove artificial barriers."
MP Serhiy Sobolev said that the adoption of this bill is a threat to the alcohol industry.
"This is actually the beginning of the complete destruction of Ukrainian alcohol industry. This is preparation to sell "Ukrspirt," he said.
The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maxim Nefedov said that the document does not apply to the sale of "Ukrspirt" who was also present in the hall of Parliament.
