Importers will breed fish in Ukraine
The agreement was reached between State Fish Agency and the Association of "Ukrainian importers of fish and seafood," UBR.
Leading import companies of fish and seafood for the first time will be engaged in fish farming in Ukraine that is aquaculture, according to the the press service of State Fish Agency.
"Today, 80% of the Ukrainian fish market is imported. Due to the consolidation of efforts and cooperation, the State Fish agency and the Association "Ukrainian importers of fish and seafood" intend to increase the production of the Ukrainian aquaculture for the saturation of its own market and further export. The work will be done to attract investments into the sector and ensure consumers with qualitative and affordable fish," it goes in a statement.
Promising species of aquaculture are traditional for Ukraine carps in particular, and trendy for the global aquaculture and interesting for export to the EU countries are tilapia, oysters and shrimp ocean.
