Ukrainian budget draft 2017: coal industry to get almost UAH 2bln
The money will be allocated to restructure mines and support miners.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within the draft budget for 2017 plans to earmark UAH 1.8 billion for financing the coal industry of Ukraine, namely the restructuring of mining and support for miners.
Speaking at the presentation of the state budget draft of Ukraine for 2017, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladymyr Groisman said: "We anticipate costs to restructure mines and to support the miners in such a difficult time.
"On the one hand, we will restructure the mines, and on the other we will support industry ... We are aiming for this purpose to allocate almost UAH2 billion,in particular UAH 1.8 billion," Groisman added.
The Prime Minister noted that as a result of such financing, the coal industry will be modernized and Ukraine will be able to compete in the coal market.
