The film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" will be studied at Harvard (VIDEO)Harvard University (USA) has updated the list of films for compulsory watching for every applicant for a Candidate degree in cinematology.

The film adaptation of the book Ukrainian writer Kotsiubynskyi "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1911) directed by Sergei Parajanov, has entered into the list of hits, informs the agency UNN.

Today, the Harvard’s list of the best films and documentaries in the history of cinema and art includes 800 films. Among them there are two films of the director Sergei Paradjanov—"Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964) and "The color of pomegranate" (1969).

"Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" is a Ukrainian film, created in Kiev in the Studio of feature films named after Alexandr Dovzhenko. The film won 39 international awards, 28 awards at film festivals in 21 countries.



The movie "The color of pomegranate" refers to the life of Armenian poet Sayat Nova. The film was shot in the studio "Armenfilm."
