More scenes of Leto’s Joker should have made the final cut, the Hollywood reporter.
Jared Leto suggested his character suffered the production intricacies, as more footage should have been included.
Writer-director David Ayer who approved the final cut says: “Just because something is cool and charismatic doesn’t meant it gets to survive the final cut.”
According to the film-director, Suicide squad lost over 10 minutes at the production stage.
Many expected Leto’s Joker to have more screening time, along with Mr. Leto who expressed a hope to have cut footage released one day.
However, the film-director reassured that there is no other version of the film with different cuts.
“There is no sort of parallel-universe version of the movie,”- he added.
As critics remain solid granting Suicide Squad pitiful 26% on Rotten Tomatoes, more information comes to the surface on the production issues of the film.
Among them is a rushed screenwriting process, endless edits, disagreement over the tone of the film between director and a film studio.
