Yanukovych lawyers refuse Ukraine's PGO request to interrogate him over SkypeUkraine's Prosecutor General's Office is ready to interrogate Viktor Yanukovych using video-conference, however, this action is obstructed by his lawyers. This is reported by the Head of the Special Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine Serhiy Horbatiuk.

According to Horbatiuk, lawyers for the ousted President found a reason to refuse the on-line interrogation.

"We suggest this to his lawyers but they don't want to. They say this is not legally provided in the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. We are ready for this video-conference in order to hear the suspect's position in the case. I've been constantly saying this to his lawyers and on TV", - Ukraine's 5 Channel quoted Horbatiuk.

Yanukovych is suspected of getting a 26 million hryvnia bribe which he had received during 2011-2012. The ousted Ukrainian President allegedly got the sum as a reward for publishing and writing books. On August 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. Yanukovych was expected in the Prosecutor General's Office to testify in the investigation and proceedings.

The official summons for the ousted President was published in the "Government Courier" newspaper on August 6th, 2015. Yanukovych's lawyer Vitaliy Serdiuk said they had appealed the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office on a pre-trial investigation. Yanukovych didn't appear for the interrogation where he was supposed to have been interrogated about stealing 200 million hryvnias from the state budget.
