Detained earlier by Russian law enforcers Crimean Tatar activist released

Detained earlier by Russian law enforcers Crimean Tatar activist releasedSmail Mustafayev was detained on June 5, charged with involvement with Hizb Ut-Tahrir. Deputy Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelyalov reported this during interview with Hromadske TV.

Referring to witnesses of the incident, the official said that Mustafayev was at first charged with “illegal deforestation” in the annexed Crimea.

In the morning of June 5, about 30 gunmen searched his house, where he and his family were at the time. The law enforcers asked him about involvement with Hizb Ut-Tahrir terrorist organization and checked the house for religious literature, which is forbidden in Russia.

In the morning of June 6, Smail Mustafayev was released.
