Activist of the euromaidan Vitaly Ahrameev receive 500 thousand hryvnia for the fact that was illegally detained by Interior Ministry special unit "Berkut" Ukraine in January 2014.
This amount will be paid as a compensation for moral damage caused by special unit during the events on Independence Square in January 2014.
As noted, Ahrameev was arrested January 21, 2014 as a suspect in the active participation in the riots. January 23 Solomenskiy district court arrested him for 60 days, and February 12 - released under house arrest. The examination found that the detention of Ahrameev inflicted injuries of medium and mild.
February 26, 2014 the criminal proceedings against the detained activists had been closed due to lack of evidence. Ahrameev also filed a lawsuit against the State Treasury, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the chief national police management, demanding pay him damages.
In the lawsuit, he explained that the illegal actions of law enforcement officers have caused "the deterioration of his health condition, caused physical and mental suffering, loss of a prestigious job, deterioration of normal living relationships, the loss of prospects of business activity, deprived of the constitutional right to liberty and security of person."
The representative of the prosecutor's office in Kiev and the representative of the State Treasury did not recognize the claim, referring to the failure to prove the claims.
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine its representative in court is not sent, and national police reported that their representative is on vacation.
