Ukraine is waiting for a decision from the Netherlands regarding the completion of the ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement in the context of the outcome of the non-binding referendum in the country, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.
"Now the ball is in the field of our Dutch partners. They are to find a way to settle the issue. I hope that internal policy would not affect this decision," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Klimkin expressed hope that the decision would be found soon.
He also said that an option for settling the issue could be a declaration from the Netherlands presented jointly with the ratification document.
It was reported earlier that 61% of voters in the Netherlands voted against the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, in a consultative referendum on April 6, 2016.
