NACB claimed its staff members were tortured in the basement of GPO
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NACBU) claimed its staff members were tortured in the basement of the General Prosecutor's Office(GPO) of Ukraine.
The head of the Corruption counteraction centre Vitalii Shabunin claimed the GPO staff members held and tortured two members of NACBU.
Shabunin shared with Holos Krainy radio station: "There is no war between GPO and NACBU. Anti-Corruption Bureau performed investigative actions under the court decision, that were absolutely legal and rightful.
In the result, to respond to such actions GP illegally held two employees in its building without any document for half of day, and tortured them. Can you feel the difference between the unlawful actions, tortures and lawful acts?" he added.
On August 12, the clash between the staff members of NACBU and GPO took place as a result GPO unlawfully detained two members of NACBU and three prosecutors got trivial injuries.
