Ukraine needs not housing program for internally displaced but occupied territory recovering - Chubarov
Ukraine does not need a separate housing program for internally displaced persons. The state must step up efforts to recover their territory which is currently occupied, Refat Chubarov, chairman of the Mejlis said, Ukrinform reports.
"We don't need to develop a separate housing program in mainland Ukraine for those who lost homes due to Russian occupation. Because this will show that we simply have agreed and resigned ourselves to the loss of this land. I think that it will be more effective to step up the efforts of the state so that we and our partners develop a program to return these lands and restore our territorial integrity. And then Yuriy Ilchenko (political prisoner who escaped from Crimea) can move back to his house, I will return to my apartment and make sure my mother and thousands, hundreds of thousands of people who had homes destroyed in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions will return to the land to rebuild them. And we will work with them. It will be the most effective way," Chubarov said.
