At least two Russian militaries died in Syria: graves were found outside Moscow
At least two miliraries died in Syria who were the officers of the Special Operation Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Meduza referes to the investigation group Conflict Intelligence Team(CIT).
Over the last year two officers of the SOF were buried at the Solnechnogorsk graveyard in Moscow region. According to CIT they were captains Oleg Arhireev and Maksim Sorochenko.
One of two units of the center of special purposes "Senezh" is located in Solnechnogorsk.
According to Arhireev's relatives, he died on June 9, 2016 in Syria. Officially, circumstances surrounding his death have not been revealed.
Sorochenko died on November 19, 2015 and was posthumously awarded with Kutuzov medal. His burial placed next to Arhireev's.
It is reported Sorochenko died the same day as Fiodor Zhuravlev whose death in Syria was officially confirmed by the Russian authorities.
Sorochenko's and Zhuravlev's wives were granted cars at the event organized in conjunction with the Russian Ministry of Defense according to CIT.
CIT reported: " As Fiodor Zhuravlev and Maksim Sorochenko were the SOF combatants and died the same day and their wives were awarded at the tornament, it is probable they had died in the same battle."
