Martial law introduction, mobilization possible if conflict in Donbas, Crimea escalates - Ukrainian President
If the situation in eastern Ukraine and in Crimea deteriorates, martial law may be imposed and mobilisation will be announced in Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko has said while visiting Lviv region on Thursday.
There is a strong probability that the situation in Donbas will escalate
and a full-scale incursion by the Russian army is possible, he said.
"The probability of escalation remains high
. We do not absolutely rule out a full-scale Russian invasion in all directions. We are ready. Our armed forces are ready to repel the enemy both in the east [...] and along the administrative border with Crimea."
"In the event of the exacerbation of the situation in the east and in Crimea [...] we will have to impose martial law and order mobilisation," Poroshenko said.
