Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has held a telephone talk with Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, the press service of the President reported Friday.
“The Head of State informed about the escalation of the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the growing number of Russian provocations in the occupied Donbas and Crimea. Petro Poroshenko also called for keeping the issue of the Russian aggression against Ukraine
on the agenda of the North Atlantic Alliance,” reads the statement.
In its turn, Jens Stoltenberg underscored the importance of full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
The parties discussed also the status of implementation of the ‘Integrated package of NATO assistance to Ukraine’ approved at the Alliance Summit in Warsaw. The President expressed hope that the package would help to modernise the Ukrainian army to the NATO standards.
