Kremlin: no need for direct negotiations with Ukraine over Donbas
The Kremlin is skeptical of the need for direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on the situation in Donbas, UNIAN.
The press secretary of the president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said: " It depends on what to talk about over Donbas. It is necessary to understand the subject of negotiations.
"If we talk about the implementation of the Minsk agreements, this implementation should be ensured by Donbas and Kyiv. It is necessary to clearly differentiate the subject [of the discussion] - Moscow is not a party to the conflict," press secretary added.
According to Peskov Moscow is, together with Germany and France a "guarantor " of the agreements.
He also pointed out in the text of the Minsk agreements "it is unlikely you will find a paragraph that contains Moscow's commitment to the implementation of these provisions."
