Poroshenko promised to put veto on budget 2017 if it does not contain scholarship funds

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko promised to veto the law on the state budget if it will not have sufficient funding for education, including funding of scholarships and studying of students in the master's program.
Speaking to tha Parliament on an annual basis the President said: "I will not pass the next year's budget that will abolish grants, cancel public financing of studies in the magistracy and other experiments."
Poroshenko also stressed that the scientific potential of Ukraine should be developed and maintained.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine proposed to reduce the number of academic scholarships next year paid to students for academic performance, and to increase the number of scholarships given to students from low-income families.
