Ukrainian Parliament postponed its appeal to the US Congress over sanctions against Russia
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine postponed consideration of an appeal to the Congress of the United States asking to maintain and to strengthen sanctions against Russia and its leadership, UNIAN.
The Ukrainian Parliament decided today not to vote for an appeal to the House of Representatives with regards to the consideration of the bill number 5094 "Act of stability and democracy in Ukraine."
The refusal of the Radical Party fraction to vote for the appropriate resolution, emphasizing the necessity of universal appeal to Congress to support Ukraine without specifying a specific bill, became the reason for the delay.
The head of the Radical Party, Oleg Lyashko said that the request for a specific bill Congress may be regarded "as an external dictatorship."
Therefore, the Parliament supported the proposal to defer consideration of the document, having voted 232 of 344 MPs registered in the session hall.
