This week Ukraine will appeal to the court over a large-scale comprehensive international action against the Russian Federation concerning violations of the Convention on the Law of the Sea, Ukrainska Pravda.
Speaking on the ICTV channel, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin announced the Ukraine's intention.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine said: "The first big lawsuit will be filed this week. It deals with the UN Convention on Law of the Sea.
"It is actually comprehensive as it encapsulates the fundamental issues such as the use of marine space, violation of environmental safety, as well as the cultural heritage. This a large-scale action," he added.
According to the minister, any claim carried out within the confines of such conventions involves three stages: rights, restitution of rights, and compensation.
Klimkin said: "Of course, we will go to compensation, it is absolutely clear."
