Armenia's new PM is a top-manager of Russian "Gazprom"
The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan appointed Prime Minister who is a top manager of "Gazprom" and a former Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan, UNIAN.
This is stated in the decree of the Armenian President dated by September 13.
Earlier, on September 8, Armenian Prime Minister Ovik Abrahamyan resigned.
Karapetyan in December 2011 was appointed as first vice president of Gazprombank.
In November 2012 he became deputy director of Strategy and Development Ltd "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz" that is a subsidiary company of "Gazprom."
Since 2015 he served as deputy director of international projects Ltd "Gazprom enerhoholdynh" (part-time).
According to media reports, Karapetyan submitted a letter of resignation from the post.
