Russia is interested in breaking the deadlock of Minsk deals

Russia is interested in breaking the deadlock of Minsk dealsRussia proposes to develop a "road map" to move the implementation of the Minsk agreements from "the dead end," UNIAN.

This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a joint press conference in Moscow with Foreign Minister of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.

Russian Foreign Minister said: "We are convinced in the need to break the deadlock in the process of the Minsk agreements implementation. In order to do so both Kyiv and proclaimed republics in Donetsk and Luhansk must pass their way and to fulfill their commitments taken one and a half years ago."

He said that Russia is seeking to the Ukrainian colleagues the constitutional reform in order to permanently set the special status of Donbass, to perform amnesty and to organize local elections in "the territories of the DPR and LPR."

This issue should be solved through a direct dialogue with "Donetsk and Luhansk within the confines of Contact Group that Kyiv has recently tried to withdraw," according to Lavrov.

"We are deeply convinced that Kyiv's intention, to first provide the full silence mode for a month and only then to begin the discussion the political aspects of the Minsk agreements, aims to delay the process for good," Lavrov added.

Russian Foreig Minister said: "We propose simultaneously to develop a "road map," in which each step in strengthening the security will be accompanied by step in political reforms progress, primarily in the reforms Kyiv has pledged to adopt."
