Ukrainian Parliament declared Russian State Duma is illegitimate
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation have been illegitimate as well as its newly elected MPs of the 7th convocation, Interfax Ukraine.
Two hundred sixty four MPs of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada voted for a decision.
The Ukrainian parliament has also adopted a statement addressing to the international community not to recognize the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
In particular, Parliament appealed to the security and the UN General Assembly Council, parliaments of foreign states, international parliamentary assemblies and organizations to not recognize the legitimacy of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, as well as any decisions taken by it.
Ukrainian Parliament has adopted such decision due to the elections held in annexed Crimea and Sevastopol.
The election to the State Duma of the Russian Federation took place on September 18.
