Ukrainian, Latvian presidents agree to enhance cooperation between their countries
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with his Latvian counterpart Raimonds Vejonis in New York.
"The head of state thanked Latvia for its consistent support of Ukraine in the provision of the visa-free regime and the policy of sanctions against Russia over its aggression against Ukraine,' Poroshenko's press service reported.
The two presidents agreed to enhance cooperation between their countries at the international level and within international organisations.
Poroshenko also asked Vejonis to facilitate the investigation by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies into the cases against former Ukrainian leaders and the return of money confiscated by the Latvian government.
