Spain supports visa free travel between EU and Ukraine
The majority of the Ukrainians living in Spain have successfully integrated into Spanish society, LB.ua.
Ukraine's Ambassador to Spain Anatolii Shcherba said in an interview that Spain supports the granting of visa-free regime to Ukraine.
According to him, "5-6 years ago, the Spanish saw Ukraine as a country with certain threats of immigration risks" and worried that "if the visa regime will be introduced, the Ukrainians will surge to Spain."
The ambassador continued: "According to the statistics run by the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Social Policy, about 85 thousand Ukrainians are registered in Spain. And this figure is relatively constant over the past 10 years.
"When the crisis began, many foreigners in Spain lost their jobs. There is the same amount of the Ukrainians now as it was before. This indicates that most of them are successfully integrated into Spanish society and employers are interested in them."
"Having seriously consider this issue from the point of view of risks, Spain is now supporting the visa-free regime for Ukraine,"concluded Anatoly Shcherba.
