Turkey has suspended 13 thousand policemen
The suspension came after an unsuccessful attempt of military coup in Turkey, amounting to 12801 person to be in dismissal, DW.
The decision to apply official police sanctions was taken the morning October 4.
All the suspended law enforcement officers have been suspected of having links with the exiled opposition to Turkish Fethullah Gülen.
Among them, 2523 individuals held management positions in the police structures.
Overall, the number of police officers in the country is 250.000 people.
In general, during the purges in Turkey 100.000 servicemen, officials, police staff and teachers have already been fired.
About 32.000 of them were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the July Putsch.
