1,218 gendarmerie suspended in Turkey
Turkish authorities have suspended 1,218 gendarmerie personnel, Reuters.
Turkey has removed 1,218 gendarmerie from duty on Thursday within the confines of investigations into a failed coup in July, according to an official from the interior ministry overseeing the force.
Turkey has already fired or suspended more than 110,000 civil servants, judges, prosecutors, soldiers and others over suspected to have connections to the network of Fethullah Gulen, a US-based cleric blamed by Ankara for organizing the failed coup.
