First airstrikes in weeks resumed in Aleppo
The move came after Russia announced the start of a major operation in Syria, The Guardian.
First airstrikes in weeks have hit rebel-held eastern Aleppo as Russia announced offensive in the Syrian provinces of Idlib and Homs.
The Aleppo strikes killed at least three people, according the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Airstrikes carried out by helicopters dropping barrel bombs and involved aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, that had been in news on its route from Russia to Syria’s shores last month.
“Our houses are shaking from the pressure. Planes are soaring above us and the bombardment is around us,” said Modar Shekho, a resident of eastern Aleppo.
