French PM: Europe at risk of collapse
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls urged Europe is in danger of breaking apart and could fail during a trip to the German capital on Thursday.
Mr Valls was speaking at an economic forum in Berlin, where he told his audience that France and Germany "must be strong"
and give European projects a new foundation.
At an event organized by the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, Valls said France must continue its reforms, including lowering corporate tax, but added that it needed Germany to make efforts regarding investment.
“A policy of growth cannot be reduced to reducing wage costs and public deficits,”
he said, according to AFP.
Valls has called on Europe to stop being naive in the area of international trade and immigration, and to say more clearly “who can and cannot enter and stay”
in the continent.
