Ukrainian Cabinet approves list of print media to be privatized
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved Wednesday a list of 244 print mass media and editorial boards to be privatized, Interfax Ukraine.
Spokesman for the prime minister Dmytro Stoliarchuk said:"The purpose of the reform is to deprive these mass media of state influence and make them interesting and informative. The Cabinet of Ministers at today's meeting approved a list of 244 publications, which expressed desire to participate in the first stage of the reform – these are more than half of municipal media in the country."
He noted Ukrainian authorities undertook the relevant commitment to the Council of Europe in 2005.
