The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a bill on October 10 №5256 on amending the law "On the deposits guarantee system of private bodies", which proposes to raise twice the ultimate level of compensation of deposits to private bodies up to UAH 400 thousand , Slovo i Dilo.
The initiators of the document are reported to be the head of the "Radical Party" Oleg Lyashko, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on matters of financial policy Serhii Rybalka, Victor Galasyuk, Leonid Kozachenko and Oleg Kryshin.
The initiators of the bill believe that such an increase in the guaranteed payout is reasonable and takes into account inflation, exchange rate fluctuations and falling of national currency and purchasing power.
The bill suggests to establish a regular fee for banks to the Guarantee Fund of private bodies, depending on the risk level in the bank's activities and to set limits on the size of such contributions is not more than 1.5% of the accrual base in the national currency and 2.4% of the accrual base in the foreign currency.
