Ukrainian Cabinet to increase minimum wage up to UAH 3200

The Government also proposed to equal the minimum wage and subsistence level, UNIAN.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within the framework of the draft state budget 2017 completion and formation of a fair wages system in the country, offered to double the minimum wage up to UAH 3200 in 2017 and to equal rates of the minimum wage and subsistence level.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladymyr Groisman at the opening of a government session.
Groisman said: "The minimum wage can not be less than UAH 3200. A subsistence level and minimum wage will match. No one in Ukraine will earn not less than UAH 3200 [per month]. "
Simultaneously Groisman instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance to work out all necessary decisions in this area.
"I will ask the Ukrainian parliament to support these initiatives,"Prime Minister said.
