Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usyk outmatched his opponent and his victory was recognized unilaterally by all judges.
In the match against Krzysztof Glowacki in Gdansk, Alexander Usyk became the new world champion in the heavyweight version of the WBO.
The 29-year-old Usyk scored 10-0, 9 KOs and defeated Krzysztof Glowacki with his 27-1,16 KOs.
The fight lasted the maximum number of rounds. By the judges's decision Alexander Usyk won with a score of 119-109, 117-111, 117-111.
Therefore, Usyk broke the record of Evander Holyfield, who became the world champion of the WBO in the 12th match, Alexander was able to pull it of yet it in the 10th match.
Vitalii Klitschko, who was present at the match said that "until the fifth or sixth round, they had been on an equal footing, but after Usyk showed he was much better prepared than Glowacki."
