Android Wear watches are not connecting to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Android Wear watches are not connecting to the iPhone 7 and 7 PlusUnlike the Apple Watch, Android Wear is designed to be cross-platform and works with both Android and iOS. A number of people, however, are reporting that they’re unable to connect their Android Wear devices to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Users are making it to the accept message screen when pairing the watch to the iPhone 7, which likely indicates that the Bluetooth pairing process is failing at some point. Google has officially stated that the Asus ZenWatch 2, Moto 360 2nd Gen, Moto 360 Sport, TAG Heuer Connected and Fossil Q Founder all are having issues with connecting to the iPhone 7. Additional devices are listed as having difficulties by posters in Google’s official Android Wear forums.

It’s unclear what is causing this issue though the problem seems to be iPhone 7 related rather than linked Apple’s new iOS 10 operating system. Google says it’s currently looking into the connectivity problem and has plans to release a fix in the near future.

While Android Wear devices do work with iOS, they’re functionality is very limited, particularly when it comes to Google Now functionality, the mobile operating system’s main draw.
