China ready to build $1 bln solar parks in Chernobyl
Investment companies CCEC and GCL showed interest to realize such a project in the exclusion zone, UBR.
Chinese investment companies CCEC and GCL are interested in the possibility to build solar energy parks in the exclusion zone, according to the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
Representatives of the companies said that the construction of a solar park in the Chernobyl zone is a long-term project in the promising market, in which China is ready to invest more than $ 1 billion.
The head of the department Ostap Semerak said: "This is a serious prospect for Ukraine, both in terms of adaptation of the territories affected by the Chernobyl accident, as well as for the Ukrainian economy, filling the budget and getting energy independence.
"Interests of business, state and society converge in the development of "green" energy. It means energy security, environmental condition, and the development of local economies," he added.
