A solar tracker system generates 50 % more electricity than their stationary counterparts, Ukraine Today.
The first ever solar tracking power plant in Eastern Europe has been recently launched in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region.
The alternative solar park will save about 500,000 tonnes of coal per year, and will significantly reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions, according to
Solar panel tracking solutions are a more advanced technology in comparison with stationary mounts, which hold panels in a fixed position. Such panels automatically move to "track" the progress of the sun across the sky, thus increasing the energy output up to 50%.
Some 10,400 modules are working at the power plant producing more than 2,500 kW per hour, according to the regional authorities.
The power plant located in the town of Pidhorodne will supply energy to its 27,000 households.
