At least six Yemeni troops were killed and dozens were wounded on Wednesday when two suicide bombers blew up their cars at a military base in the southern city of Aden, Reuters
The target of the bombers was a military base near Aden's international airport.
A military source blamed jihadists for the attack.
According to media reports, the first bomb went off at the entrance of the army base, while the second vehicle drove inside the base and exploded, leaving at least six military personnel dead.
Clashes then broke out between troops and attackers in the base, which was sealed off by government forces sent as reinforcements. Around 20 militant attackers were killed.
The port city of Aden is under the control of government forces who are struggling to secure it more than a year after it was taken back from Shiite Huthi rebels who have seized control of large parts of the country.
