Russia is considering the possibility of severing the diplomatic relations with Ukraine after the developments on the administrative border between Crimea and mainland Ukraine
, Russian newspaper Izvestia reports.
According to the media outlet's source in diplomatic circles, one of Kremlin's options might be the closing of Russian diplomatic mission in Ukraine. However, the source said, the final decision will be taken by the head of state.
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) earlier claimed
that Kyiv tried to send saboteurs into Crimea
and that a soldier and an FSB officer were killed thwarting the alleged armed attack.
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko ordered to enhance the level of combat readiness of all the formations and units serving at the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula and the militant-controlled Donbas territories.
