Scientists have developed an incredible source of energy

Scientists have developed an incredible source of energyScientists at Newcastle University have launched a project LIAR (Living Architecture - Live Architecture), in which researchers will be engaged in the development of brick, capable of processing waste water and to generate electricity. Of these, it will be possible to build houses and fences of the new degree of environmental friendliness, according Digital Trends.

LIAR will use natural sources such as sunlight, waste water and air. At its core, the wall of such brick will be the likeness of bioreactors, from which will be built homes, and public offices.

Professor of experimental architecture at Newcastle University, Rachel Armstrong compares these biomechanical design with cow's stomach:
"The bricks will have special compartments, each of which will handle organic waste for a specific purpose. It's kind of the digestive system, built-in homes and offices. "

Each brick will be equipped with a microbial fuel cell-based programmable synthetic microorganisms. Some of them will take the water treatment, the others will receive phosphates and produce electricity.

"The project is incredibly exciting - it unites the living architecture, computer science, to find a new way to tackle global issues such as sustainability," - says Professor Armstrong.

Thus, LIAR system become a kind of living organisms, and building on the basis of a reasonable bricks will meet the energy and environmental needs of the people.
