“Turkish James Bond” will be trying to handle 15 July coup in a new movie from popular Turkish television and film thriller franchise, its producer has announced.
The Valley of the Wolves is a popular Turkish franchise with a main character that could be compared to famous Agent 007 already has dozens of television episodes and several spin-off films since it was first created in 2003.“In response to intense public demand to make a film or television series about the coup bid, our firm has taken the decision to make the film Valley of the Wolves – Coup,”
the production company Pana Film tweeted on Monday.
No further details were given. But the film will probably see the return of Turkish secret service action hero Polat Alemdar, played by Necati Şaşmaz, battling with the coup plotters who aimed to unseat the president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Being extremely popular, franchise still faces accusations by critics of having a strong ideological bent alongside a potent streak of Turkish nationalism and anti-American and anti-Israeli sentiment.
