Three Syrians arrested in Germany
Three Syrian men arrested by German police on suspicion of being sent to Germany by the Islamic State, prosecutors said on Tuesday.
The men, aged 17, 18 and 26-years old, were arrested in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein on Tuesday after a series of pre-dawn raids. Police also reported to have seized "extensive material".
Three Syrians were dispatched to Germany in November 2015 "either to carry out a mission that they had been informed about or to wait for further instructions,"
They are said to have travelled through Turkey and Greece on false passports. Still it was unclear where and when any attack would have taken place."Concrete missions or orders have not so far been found in the course of investigations carried out so far,"
said federal prosecutors in a statement.
Germany is on alert after a series of violent attacks, three of which were carried out by asylum seekers. Two attacks were claimed by Islamic State.
