Russian naval group will not join Aleppo strikes: ministry
The Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday dismissed suggestions from NATO that a Russian battle group in the Mediterranean would join the bombardment of Syria's Aleppo as absurd, the RIA news agency reported.
NATO had no reason to worry about the battle group and that the Russian air force had not flown any bombing runs in Aleppo for nine days, the ministry said.“The naval group is in the Mediterranean Sea. Our ships have always been present in the Mediterranean. There is no reason to suspect something, there is no reason for Stoltenberg’s (NATO Secretary General) words,”
Also on Wednesday evening the spokesman for Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said that the Russian authorities had not sent any request to Spain
for refueling naval group of the Northern Fleet led by the aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov"
in the port of Ceuta.
He added that the Russian naval aircraft carrier group is fully provided with necessary supplies to carry out tasks in offline mode.
