Dodon rages over participation in Rapid Trident-2017

Moldovan President Igor Dodon demanded the resignation of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic Gheorghe Galbura because of sending of Moldovan soldiers to the drills in Ukraine. The head of state wrote this on Friday on his Facebook page.
"I demand resignation of Deputy Minister of Defense, Mr. Gheorghe Galbura, who at the moment holds the position of minister, for breaking the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces," Dodon stressed.
The President also instructed to conduct an official investigation to identify "those responsible for violating the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as well as choosing the penalty for to the persons concerned in the form of demotion." Also, Dodon qualified the actions of the Defense Ministry "as a serious disciplinary violation and violation of the military oath."
Also, Dodon signed a decree banning the soldiers to leave the country to participate in exercises and other similar events, reports Avedarul.

According to him, no one will leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova without the written consent of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
"As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces today, I signed a decree prohibiting the participation of Moldovan soldiers in training exercises, operations, missions, training, or other events abroad without the prior consent of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief," the Moldovan president wrote.
It was noted that the decree is mandatory for implementation and entered into force immediately after signing. In addition, Dodon asked the Prime Minister to initiate the resignation of Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura.
As it was reported earlierMoldovan soldiers arrived in Ukraine for Rapid Trident despite Dodon prohibition. The conflict on this issue arose between the president and the government.Moldovan Government approved the decision that allows the militaries to participate in the drills.
WhereasPresident of Moldova Igor Dodon prohibited the militaries to take part in the Rapid Trident-2017 drills in Ukraine.He stopped the work of the governmental resolution, insisting that the decision of the participation of the army in the drills beyond the country should be made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces that is a president.
