Open source
Convicted in Russia Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov was transferred from Yakutsk to Irkutsk prison about a week ago, according to the information of Human Rights advocates of Irkutsk Region pravoirk.ru.
“Oleh Sentsov says he doesn’t know why he was transferred, he was just “snatched”, and that’s it. Now he is “in the cellar” of so-called “red” building of Irkutsk prison, in solitary confinement,” the message says.
Previously Moscow human right advocate Zoya Svetova wrote about Sentsov being transferred to Irkutsk. Ukrainian Minsitry of Foreign Affairs is verifying this information.
Ukrainian Oleg Sentsov, born in Crimea, was sentenced to 20 years in a Russian prison, following his trial in a military court in Rostov-on-Don. The sentence on suspicion of plotting terrorist acts in Crimea was pronounced in summer 2015. Sentencing Sentsov provoked a stormy reaction within the international community, which strongly condemned the groundless allegation and Russia's behaviour.
