More than half of Russians believe Putin guilty of abuse of power
Besides, he is responsible for the large-scale corruption and financial abuse.
According to the data provided by the sociological service "Levada-Center"
, 51% of respondents agreed with the statement of the first thesis - about Putin being guilty of abuse of power. 14% answered "without doubt, he is guilty," 37% said "probably, yes, the President is guilty." The last time such an unflattering review of the President’s activities was recorded by "Levada" in 2012-2013.

The number of respondents who do not believe that Putin has ever abused power has significantly decreased (down to 17% from 22% in July 2015). The answers of the type “even if it is true, it is more important, that under his rule the situation in the country is better and people live better” has decreased from 31% to 18% out of the total response rate. 59% believe that the President has the responsibility for the corruption “at the top”: 26% state that he is "fully" responsible for the on-going corruption at the high level, 33% hold an opinion that V. Putin is "significantly" responsible for it.
The survey was held from the 22th to the 25th of April 2016 among 1,600 people in 137 settlements of 48 regions of the country. The survey was made through personal interviews. "Levada-Center" evaluates the statistical error of its research within 3.4%.
