Cyprus's resolution to lift anti-Russia sanctions is mediated support of aggressor’s actions - Ukraine's Foreign Ministry
‘Despite the fact that the resolution is not a legally binding document, the very fact of its adoption evokes concern. It shows some Cyprian MPs ignore the basic principles of interstate relations that are based on the international law. Such position is nothing but a mediated support of aggressor’s actions’, reads the document released at the Ministry’s website.
The authority said the recent EU’s decision to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation once again showed the unity of European democratic community in condemning the Kremlin’s aggression. ‘We expect that the government of Cyprus, which supported this decision, will stay firm on the positions of international law and respect for the European values, and will continue international efforts to cease Russian aggression against Ukraine’, reads the message.
