Extremists, terrorists list publised by Russia includes Crimean journalists, activists22 Crimea-born persons have been placed on the so-called lists of terrorists and extremists, published by the Russian Federation. Among the people, accused by Moscow of criminal activities, are political prisoners, journalists and civil activists, RFE/RL reports.

Blogger Yuriy Ilchenko, recently arrested for publishing an article condemning Russian annexation of Crimea, is on the list. A Crimean journalist and freelancer Mykola Semena, accused of separatism by Russian FSB, is also among the extremists and terrorists. His lawyer has called the placement of his client on the list post-trial reprisals and said he could appeal.

The document also names several Ukrainian prisoners, held in Russia, as well: Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Oleksiy Cherniy and recently freed Hennadiy Afanasyev.

In the "terrorist list," there is a name of another Crimean journalist Anna Andrievskaya. Another person, accused of terrorism, is Stanislav Krasnov, the head of the Civil department of "Azov-Crimea". Krasnov is arrested in Ukraine over the illegal handling of weapons, SBU suspects him of working for FSB.

Pro-Ukrainian activists in Crimea have been persecuted by the Russian Federation after the illegal annexation of the peninsula in 2014. Ukraine, the West, and various human right groups have repeatedly called on Russia to stop violating the human rights of local residents.
